Macee Pruisner has technically been with the Lucky Gal family since the start. As our daughter, she has grown up learning the business and couldn’t wait to be a piercer. She started her piercing apprenticeship quickly after graduation and has been piercing full-time since July 2022. She is also our Ankeny location's full-time, certified laser removal specialist, focusing on laser tattoo removal and laser hair removal.
Macee also oversees all social media marketing for Lucky Gal and manages the piercing and jewelry responsibilities for all the shops. Along with working, Macee enjoys spending time training her dog Mahomes, caring for her many exotic animals, and crocheting. She currently resides in Ankeny with her fiancé and plans to attend nursing school in the fall.

Ricky Hathaway has been tattooing for over 15 years. He started his tattoo career in Davenport, IA.
He has been with the Lucky Gal family for over 8 years.
His specialties include realism, black and gray and bright color but he really enjoys doing it all!!

Tattoo Artist
Art has always been something that I’ve wanted to turn into a full-time job. I used to mainly work with digital art for most of my illustrations. I went to Iowa State University, majored in Integrated Studio Arts, and graduated in 2021. At first, I wanted to make digital art my career, but after learning more about the tattoo industry and realizing that I could become a tattoo artist, I worked hard at improving my art and getting an apprenticeship. My tattoo apprenticeship started under Ricky in May 2022. The biggest things I love to work on are plants and animals, as well as fonts and handwriting. I’m always looking to learn more and improve with every tattoo I do.

Hey! I’m Susanna Maj. I started my tattoo journey at 18 years old in the suburbs of Chicago and officially became a tattoo artist at the young age of 19. I’ve always appreciated all forms of art, which led me to love all tattoo styles. Growing up, I had two personal rules: always do my best to help people and to share my art with the world. Tattooing brings me joy because it allows me to live out both of those promises—I’m able to help people express themselves through art. I’m constantly learning and always open to feedback so I can grow as much as possible, and I’d love for you to be a part of my journey!

I officially started my tattooing career in 2022 and they have always been a passion of mine. I got my first tattoo on my 18th birthday, then two days later I went back and got another one! I remember being in love with the arts since I could walk and talk and becoming a tattoo artist just solidified my need to create art for not only myself but others!

My favorite styles to create are anything with bold colors, neotational, anime/animated, and illustrated, but I still love black and grey, it’s a classic for a reason. In my free time I love continuing to grow my art, thrifting, exploring nature, and coffee dates with friends!
